One to one workshops for neurodivergent young people.

We also offer one to one workshops for anyone that would like or requires a more personal setting.

Gemma Lloyd specialises in working with neurodivergent young people, many of whom are being home educated  and is her passion.  We suggest that you come in and meet with her first and we take it from there, finding a date and time that works for us all.

It is suggested that parent or carer sits in for the first session or perhaps stays close by in the shop while the session takes place in our workshop space and we graduate to a point that if both parties are comfortable the young people can remain while the  parent/carer can choose to go and wait in a local cafe.

We’re here to assist and make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves and have their needs met.

Our approach is not about ‘teaching’ art, but focusing on every individual; picking up on their interests and their approach to creating. We will aim to introduce different techniques and mediums and will develop the natural abilities and confidence of each child we meet.

The possibilities are endless, recently in the workshops we have drawn with many different mediums, we have created sculptures in clay, wire and paper. We have made pots and learnt about the world of ceramics, we have created monoprints and lino cuts and printed on T-Shirts and made puppets and masks and books. We problem solve together and we can throw in world renowned artists if the children would like to learn a bit more about the art world and we can also have sessions on the beach or nearest green space.

It’s your session and we want to make you as comfortable as possible.

We have worked with many, many children and run zillions of workshops, and very much here to support, encourage and overall have fun and as we say, currently have a focus on working with amazing neurodivergent young people.
